Dear Reader,

Without books, how would we have gotten through this past year? In times of crisis, we all look to authors for enlightenment, escape, and stories that highlight our common humanity. That’s why The Author’s Guild Foundation has chosen the theme Books Inspire Change for the 29th annual Authors Guild Foundation Gala. We hope you’ll join us online on Tuesday, May 18, as we honor Louise Erdrich, Ibram X. Kendi, and One World. Samantha Bee will be our host for the evening, which will also feature luminaries such as Isabel Allende, David Baldacci, John Grisham, Jason Reynolds, and Gloria Steinem.

Each year, we rely on this benefit to support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to advocate for authors and to support the next generation of writers. However, because of the pandemic, the 2021 Gala is free and open to the public. I hope you will consider helping us honor our awardees and the work that we do by making a donation today. A gift of any amount will be so appreciated, and each dollar will be matched by our board of directors and the Authors Guild Council!

We will be sharing registration info soon, but please go to authorsguild.org/gala to keep informed about the exciting program we have planned!

Make a Gift to Support the Celebration!

Warm regards,

Lynn Boulger
